The Parker Family Health Center recently received a $50,000 gift from the Robin Hood Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. The donation will be used to “help patients still displaced by the storm, to provide counseling and interventions for stress and anxiety and other needed services by expanding social work services by an additional 24 hours each week” at the Health Center.
The Robin Hood Foundation has been fighting poverty in New York City for over twenty years. After Hurricane Sandy, a special fund was created by the foundation to benefit organizations in the Tri-State area assisting those people affected by the storm. To date over 70 million dollars has been distributed to organizations in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
