Licensed Healthcare Volunteers

We welcome any inquiries from medical professionals, active or retired, who have an interest in volunteering at our clinic. Here is a list of the most frequently asked questions about provider volunteering:

  • Am I required to have an active medical license?
Yes, you are required to have an active license in the State of New Jersey.

  • Do I need to carry Malpractice Insurance?
No. The clinic covers all licensed independent practitioners under the Federal Tort Claims Act. Please view at: http://bphc.hrsa.gov/ftca/freeclinics/index.html

  • How much time is required to volunteer?
As much as you would like. Some of our physicians, nurse practitioners and dentists volunteer 1 or 2 times a month. We are happy to work with you in any way that is convenient to your schedule.
